Integration with ISDN
Cartwright King Solicitors offer a high quality service to both publicly funded and private clients. They are recognised as experts in their fields in both the Legal 500 and the Chambers Guide to the Legal Profession, and have a national reputation.
The firm, it’s directors and employees have won numerous awards over the years and although they are one of the largest Criminal Defense firms in the country, they also specialise in : Family Law, Childcare, Mental Health, Court of Protection, Community Care, Motoring, Road Transport, Military Law, Immigration, Licensing, Civil Litigation, Professional Discipline, Regulatory and Education.
Cartwright King Solicitors came to Questmark Ltd with an issue that they had been faced with for a while, with apparently no solution to issue a fix. Their problem? Finding a solution that could enable calls with the Prison Service, Court Service and the MOD from their offices using Skype for Business or a standards based video conference system on an IP connection.
Two of the biggest underlying issues Cartwright King faced were the integrations with Skype for Business and numerous end points along with all calls to the Prison Service having to be outbound using ISDN.
Did you know Questmark offer bundles to get you set up with everything you need?
With Visconn completely integrating with Skype for Business and the end points and systems used by the Prison Service, Court Service, MOD, along Cartwright King themselves, it was time to assess just how well it worked in practice. After numerous positive tests using Skype for Business to access Connect and the Questmark Support team performing a dial-out to ISDN to connect them to the Prison Service, it was branded a massive success and full use started in mid-2016.
Along with saving their Solicitors an average of 45 minutes check-in time at the prisons, it has also saved them hours of travel time and mounting expenses, giving all of their fee earners working in their Criminal Defence team the ability to open and close many more matters and cases in a much shorter space of time than they could previously.
Connect is now used on a regular basis, not only for Solicitor-Prisoner meetings and briefings, but also for any internal meetings the Firm may have that would traditionally require travel from their offices around the UK.
“Once we discovered Visconn would allow us to utilise our Skype for Business product to reduce lost fee earner time in travel, we needed to test the concept. The Questmark team handled the setting up of the virtual meeting rooms, the test calling and even wrote the bespoke guidance documentation to be issued to our staff. Once set up, the client support team managed a transition to allow us to become self sufficient while maintaining a close enough link that we felt supported.”
